Pastoral Care / Recovery / Precovery

Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.

About Us

Project13Three works to reduce recidivism in Tazewell county through work both inside and outside the Tazewell regional jail. We coordinate pastoral care for those incarcerated in the jail in partnership with local church leaders and lay volunteers. We recognize that Substance Use Disorder (SUD) contributes to recidivism in our county, and so we partner with Main Street United Methodist Church to offer a peer-support recovery group in the form of Celebrate Recovery. We also offer a youth program and a “precovery” program for children in partnership with Adair Behavioral Services in tandem with Celebrate Recovery. Through the youth and children’s program we aim to provide early intervention and support for those affected by SUD and incarceration. Our offices are located in Chapman Hall behind Main Street United Methodist Church in Tazewell, VA.
